This year the chiropractic awareness week runs from the 10th – 17th April and the British Chiropractic Association are offering some great information for the UK public to help them become more aware.
Straighten Up UK is an enjoyable 3 minute spinal health programme that they have produced for adults and children to make them feel better and look their best. It is recommended that you check with your GP, chiropractor or other health professional prior to starting the Straighten Up UK programme to make sure that the exercises are appropriate for your specific needs.
There are four basic rules which are:
- Think positively
- Stand Tall
- Breathe calmly
- Move smoothly
Ideally chiropractors would like to encourage adults and children to start using this set of simple 3 minute exercises which are designed to be done on a daily basis and become part of the daily routine much the same way as cleaning our teeth.
The literature is available in 2 formats, one aimed for adults and one for children.

What is a chiropractor?
A chiropractor is a medical professional who is trained to diagnose, treat, manage and prevent disorders of the musculoskeletal system (this is your bones, joints and muscles) as well as the effects that these disorders could have on the nervous system and your general health.
Although they are known for treating back and neck pain you can also consult a chiropractor for a range of other, related conditions.

If you are looking for a chiropractor to help to sort out a musculoskeletal condition or related issue then please have a look at the Medigest business directory where you can find a chiropractor in your local area.
