Cholesteryl ester storage disease is a rare medical condition resulting from the accumulation of cholesteryl esters and triglycerides in the blood, lymph and lymphoid tissue. It is a kind of acid lipase deficiency, similar to the Wolman disease. Children affected with this disorder have an enlarged liver which leads to cirrhosis and eventual chronic liver failure.
