On 1st April 2017, the Optician Awards took place in Birmingham’s prestigious Hilton Metropole where opticians at the top of their field were recognised for their achievements. With 16 category awards available the competition was high.
The Optician magazine is a leading independent UK journal produced weekly for eye care professionals and since 1891 it has been providing current news, views and analysis on the different areas of the optical business and profession.
Optician is a provider of Continuing Education and Training for those in the eye care profession and is currently the only independent provider of distance learning interactive CET points.
The optician Awards have been running for over 20 years and those who attended the event had the opportunity to network with 500 fellow opticians. This year’s event was hosted by actress Debra Stephenson and this year’s charity partner was Blind Veterans UK. The Winners and Finalists were chosen by expert panels of judges.

Cameron Beaumont: Independent Practice of The Year
Scope Ophthalmics : Optical Supplier of The Year
Specsavers Newport: Multiple Practice of The Year
